Book Description

More and more people are starting their own business. Yet every year, we are given statistics that make gloomy reading about the failure rate of new ventures. Are we nurturing an army of entrepreneurs - or a generation of failures?

Business survival expert, Andrew Miller, reveals the truth behind running your own enterprise and tells you exactly what you need to do in order to be a success instead of a statistic. Direct and honest, this book tells it how it is because it's better to know what makes a successful start-up in advance than to experience the nightmare of a collapsing company and become another statistic!

Whether your business venture is just a high level concept or you've been up and running for a couple of years, this is the book that every business owner should read.

About The Author

Andrew MillerAndrew Miller has over two decades of experience in advising and running businesses of all shapes and sizes. His current role is as a Business Coach with 'The How Academy', which specialises in helping small to medium business owners get the most out of their companies and the most out of themselves.

Andrew's background is unusual for a business coach, having spent 17 years working as an insolvency practitioner for KPMG, one of the global accountancy firms. The role of the insolvency practitioner is frequently misunderstood but, in essence, it meant his job was to run businesses, albeit in extreme circumstances. This unique experience gave Andrew the insight into what works and what doesn't work in business. In other words, whatever you're facing, Andrew has probably seen it and sorted it.

Being in a large firm, Andrew also developed leadership and people skills as he rose through the ranks and discovered a natural talent for getting the best out of individuals. Having acquired people-focus, he was able to recognise much more clearly the stress that business owners experience, especially when things go wrong. In 2011, Andrew went solo with a view to helping business owners avoid the traps and get the most out of their lives. He is already an author of the unique and life-changing book "Hope Won't Pay the Wages", specifically designed for anyone facing a corporate insolvency.

On a day to day basis, Andrew focusses on helping established business owners move forwards in both their business and their personal lives. Andrew is a qualified accountant, insolvency practitioner, has diplomas in both personal and corporate coaching, and also one in psychology, just for good measure. Andrew is married to Sharon, and they have been together for over 20 years.
